A Study on the Factors Affecting on the Satisfaction at Care Facilities of the Aged

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : This study aims at examining satisfaction of services offered by elderly care facilities based on its a facility and convenient service, a routine life supporting service, a medical service, a meal service, and a safety service.
Method : For the purpose of this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted from June 28th to July 31th, 2012, and 162 survey samples were used for this study after extracting them from a total sample of 170 as a result of incompleteness, unfaithfulness, and errors. SPSS/PC 18.0 program was used for the analysis of this study.
Results ; The analysis of the facility and convenient service indicate that individuals, females in genders, older than 85 year-old in ages, elementary graduates in educations, widow(er) in marriages, Buddhism in religions, have an ordinary health condition, and present a high level of unsatisfaction in a degree of an economic standard. In the analysis of the routine life supporting service, individuals, females in genders, older than 85 year-old in ages, elementary school graduates in educations, divorce(e) in marriages, Buddhism in religions, have an ordinary health condition, and present a high level of unsatisfaction in a degree of an economic standard. In the analysis of the medical service, individuals, females in genders, older than 85 year-old in ages, middle school or higher degree holders in educations, divorce(e) in marriages, Buddhism in religions, have an ordinary health condition, and denote a high level of unsatisfaction in a degree of an economic standard.As a result of the analysis in the meal service, individuals, men, older than 85 year-old, non education degree holds or elementary school drop-out in educations, divorce(e) in marriages, Christianity in religions, have an ordinary health condition, and express a high level of unsatisfaction in an economic standard. In the analysis of the safety service, individuals, females in genders with a score of 4.04, middle school or higher education degree holders in educations with a score of 4.12, divorce(e) in marriages with a score of 4.25, Christianity in religions with a score of 4.04, resulted in an ordinary health condition with a score of 4.1, and present the highest level of satisfaction in a degree of an economic standard with a score of 4.1.
Conclusion : In order to enhance the quality of elderly care facilities¡¯ services, a discovery of elements to increase the quality of the services and the effective program development with an understanding of elderly who enter the facilities are the crucial fundamental elements needed.
